  • President's Blessings

PRESIDENT REPUBLIC OF INDIA, NEW DELHI

    My Dear Sawani,
We were overjoyed by your performance at Rashtrapati Bhavan last evening. Your renderings of Raga, Tarana and Jhoola were scintillating. You have a rare gift which I am confident, will bloom into a Sadhana.
You have my best wishes and my blessings.

    Yours sincerely,
    R. VENTKATRAMAN

  • The Todi came from 12 year old queen child of melody Sawani Shende who put a brilliant interpretation. Todi has a difficult sequence of notes - komal Dhaivat, Rishabh, Gandhar with sharp Madhyam and Nishad with a Pancham at the apex to make the task harder. But a thoroughly musical blood flows through the veins of Sawani whose musical training started at the age of only six.

  • Much has been written and said about Vocalist Sawani Shende. Yet never does a performance by her fails to astound. The incredible talent and understanding that this 15 year old "Singing Wonder" possesses, is magnificent to say the least.

    - Indian Express

  • When she raised her frail hand, the index finger and the thumb meeting in a small circle to decode the nuances of Mishra Pahadi Hori, Sawani Sanjeev Shende left nobody in doubt that she was not merely a slip of a girl but a torch - bearer of this country's rich musical heritage.

  • Sawani Shende:
" The Torch bearer of this country's rich musical heritage".

    - Sunday Times

  • This Saturday was memorable, and likely to be one of those days one recalls years later as a landmark. This is because the sisters ( Sawani and Bela )are stars in the making. I wish from them excellence, and in plenty, for in Shakespeare's words, "From nature's fairest creatures, we desire increase."
